Microfiber Cloths (window cleaning)

Hello Readers,

With you, I'd like to share my latest video discussing microfiber cloths. I hope it is helpful.

Window Cleaning Hamilton Ontario -- Microfiber Cloth

Presented by: Nick from Famous Maintenance

This video features microfiber cloths (rags), window cloths.

So, what is unique about a microfiber cloth for cleaning windows?

While a cotton rag tends to push the dirt around, a microfiber cloth attracts and holds the dirt.

In my own opinion, these cloths do an exceptional job. They are very absorbent. They lift dirt.

Being a fairly new product, these cloths are becoming more popular/ available. Recently I have found microfiber cloths available in Zellers (Target) and Canadian Tire.

If you clean windows professionally, you should at least try these.

When cleaning in the wash, I throw them in with ordinary fabrics. However, do not use bleach or fabric softener. The fabric is 70% polyester, 30% polyamide.

Window Scrapers (window cleaning)

Hello Readers,

With you, I'd like to share my latest video discussing window scrapers (window cleaning). I hope it is helpful.

Window Cleaning Hamilton Ontario -- Window Scraper

Presented by: Nick from Famous Maintenance

For removing plastic tape, paint and other debris from window panes, a scraper is an effective tool.

This video features a window scraper.

Not mentioned in the video, a scraper can usually be attached to the end of a window cleaning pole.

As an alternative, disposable razor blades work just as well.

Warning: When using a window scraper, make sure the window surface is not coated with plastic. Sometimes windows are coated with a clear plastic, often called weatherized insulation. Decals and tints will also be damaged if a scraper is used.

When a squeegee is inadequate to remove squished bugs, bird poop, and other debris, a special scrubbing attachment is necessary.

This video features a scrubbing attachment, used with a window cleaning pole. Abrasive pads are secured to the scrubbing attachment.

This tool is effective for removing stubborn debris from window pane surfaces.

Five Ways to Get Your Blog Noticed

Five Ways to Get Your Blog Noticed

If you have your own blog, you want it to get noticed. The reason people write blogs is to get noticed. People are like that. They want attention. They want to be Famous.

Don’t be shy that your efforts to “getting your blog noticed” will make you look: crafty, cunning deceitful, insidious, sneaky, sly, dishonest, shifty, wily, tricky or even creepy. Don’t worry. That won’t happen.

In “getting your blog noticed”, you are playing the same game as everyone else. Your intentions aren’t original. They certainly aren’t unique.

Before I get into the tips on “getting your blog noticed,” I should mention a few things. For one thing, I have heavily borrowed from other blogs. In fact, I have completely borrowed other blogger’s advice on “getting your blog noticed.”

In fact, the last thing I am an expert in is “getting your blog noticed.” I am nearly clueless and I have much learning to do myself.

Still, I know that “getting your blog noticed” is a topic interesting to a greater mass of people. In fact, “getting your blog noticed” is highly more interesting (to most) than my true motive, promoting my window cleaning business.

Before I continue, I should mention that Famous Maintenance is a superior choice for window cleaning in Hamilton, Ontario. You get a great job for a great price. But I digress, albeit intentionally.

Back on topic, “getting your blog noticed” is a topic with mass appeal. One of the best ways to “getting your blog noticed” is to write a blog on that very subject. To use an analogy, it’s like when someone writes a book about how to “get rich quick.” The only person who is getting rich quickly is the person writing the book on the subject.

So, again, one of the best ways to “getting your blog noticed” is to write a blog on that very subject.

Here are my five tips (that I borrowed from someone else’s blog).

1. Learn SEO [Search engine optimization]
2. Write Great Headlines
3. Make It Easy to Share
4. Comment More Than You Blog
5. Tell People About It [your blog]!

Janitorial Artwork - Small Business Using Graphics

Hello Readers,

I hope the following is helpful, not just for window cleaning businesses, but for small businesses alike.

As most operators of small businesses know, many tasks cannot be contracted out. Budgets are limited. The entrepreneur must be versatile. Among other tasks, he must promote the business, provide services and handle clients.

One way I managed to save money was to produce my own graphic artwork. Using acrylic paint, I painted some pictures related to the services my business provides. Then I scanned them to my computer. (For a larger view, click on each picture.)

I’ll let you be the judge of whether the artwork is “professional” enough. In the least, I had fun painting them.
Ultimately, I decided against using these images on my website. However, I have used them on my business cards and flyers.

There is one aspect of my paintings that I think is attractive to customers. You don’t need to read a whole lot. At a glance, it is obvious what services the business provides:
-      window cleaning
-      pressure washing
-      grounds keeping
-      floor waxing
-      mopping
-      painting
-      construction site clean-up and,
-      eaves (gutter) cleaning

Such a range of services also hints at more. The customer feels he can contact us for many types of work. This means more business, and we never had to explicitly state our services.

My point, photographs or paintings eliminate reading.
